The Alliance for Global Education China in the 21st Century: Language and Cultural Studies in Beijing Contact:	This program offers students 12 class hours per week of Chinese language as well as the opportunity to examine modern China through courses taught in English in several disciplines including economics, film studies, women's studies, and cultural studies. Courses are taught exclusively for Alliance students by faculty from Beijing Language and Culture University and by professors from other universities in Beijing. Chinese language classes average 6-8 students per class. Area studies courses in English typically range from 6-15 students per class.

CET Beijing Chinese Studies Program Contact:	CET's Beijing Chinese Studies Program is designed to provide students with a broad understanding of Chinese culture, history and issues of contemporary significance, while allowing them the flexibility to focus on specific topics of their choosing. The program accommodates all students, with varying degrees of Chinese background, by offering a mandatory course ("21st Century Beijing") that centers on issues of critical importance in today's Beijing, as well as electives in Chinese history, politics, economics, philosophy and literature. In addition to these area studies courses, three levels of Chinese language are offered: beginning through high intermediate. However, CET is able to accommodate advanced students, including heritage learners. All Chinese language courses are taught in Chinese, and area courses are taught in English.
Sino Language Gateway Youth Chinese Language/Volunteer Programs Contact:	Our programs are designed for students aged 8 to 18 to learn Chinese language in China, experience the rich culture and explore the country. No prior Chinese background is needed. High school students (15 and up) also have chances to participate in volunteer projects and gain community service credits.
Pitzer College Contact:	All students take intensive Chinese language and a course on the history and culture of China. For a third course, students choose between Traditional Chinese Medicine or Media Studies topics. The fourth course is an independent study project on a topic of the student's choosing.

While foreign students attend only their own classes, our program participants study in the same class with China's best students at Peking University. For example, the course, America and China in Historical Perspectives, allows Chinese and American students to debate issues face to face, a much needed format to improve understanding.
