University of Limerick Semester Program

INTRODUCTION
Just outside the city of Limerick, the third largest city in Ireland, sits the University of Limerick which was established in 1972. Founded as a Viking fortress over a thousand years ago, Limerick today contains many architectural reminders of the city's past and offers a variety of cultural, artistic and theatrical events for students. Galway, Cork, Tipperary and Kerry are all within a day's excursion from Limerick. The University of Limerick is n a 160-acre site that formerly was a great estate on the banks of the river Shannon, three miles from Limerick city. Facilities include modern, well-equipped classrooms, a student center with lounges, a theater and an art gallery. The University has gained a national reputation for its programs in Business and Engineering, and its campus offers modern state-of-the-art technology in its programs.

HOUSING AND MEALS
Students live with Irish students and others from throughout the European Community in two residential villages. Individual two story terraced houses with 4-8 bedrooms are arranged in landscaped courtyards in an attractive village style. Each house offers single study bedrooms, a large kitchen/living room and two showers. The program immerses students into academic and social life of the University, and in addition there are field trips and on-campus activities arranged for program participants.

COSTS
$2,300 (estimated)

Includes tuition, accommodation, daily lunch, three guided excursions, University Arena membership, e-mail,receptions, cultural program, assessment and transcript, insurance.

Not included: airfare, personal costs.
