Universidad Veritas
INTRODUCTION
The Universidad Veritas is located in Costa Rica's capital
city of San José. There students have easy access to the city's museums, restaurants, markets, and
the National Theater. Reaching other parts of the country, including beaches on both the Pacific and
Caribbean coasts, are all within a few hours drive from San José. The Universidad Veritas is located
in a residential section of town. The Veritas Instituto de Espa–ol (Intensive Spanish for Foreign
Students) is part of the University and offers students from around the world the opportunity to
advance their Spanish language skills while taking other courses in English by bilingual faculty from
the University.
COURSES
Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced Spanish, Spanish for
Native Speakers, Spanish for International Business, Latin American Literature, Costa Rica Colloquium,
Environment and Society, Introduction to Ecology, Introduction to International Business.
HOUSING AND MEALS
Housing is an important aspect of the semester in Costa Rica.
Students live with host families in San José. They are given private rooms with laundry service, and
breakfast and dinner on class days. The homestay offers a special insight into Costa Rican culture
and daily life as well as the opportunity for students to practice Spanish The University can make
arrangements for students to live on campus at an additional cost.
