Program Overview

Program Description:
The Paris Summer School is focused on the theme of ‘Revolutions’. This allows students to explore how French culture has long been at the centre of innovation in the fields of architecture, film, literature, art, philosophy and drama. Students will spend two weeks in Paris in an interdisciplinary environment, attending seminars given by academics from the University of Kent and visiting important sites and museums related to the programme. This will give students an experience of living and studying in one of Europe’s major capital cities and provide an insight into a wide variety of subject areas. Students will gain expertise, skills and intercultural awareness which will be attractive to potential employers

The University of Kent will award students credits for successful completion of the Summer School. To achieve this, students will have to have attended all sessions and satisfactorily completed all tasks set. It will be up to the student’s institution to decide whether the credit is integrated into their educational programme.
Setting Description:
Students study in the historic Reid Hall in the heart of the Montparnasse district of Paris, near the famous Latin Quarter, the Sorbonne University and the glorious Jardin du Luxembourg. YOu will follow in the footsteps of eminent intellectuals who lived in, and took inspiration from, these cities. Leading authorities in their fields, Kent’s staff are known for their research-led teaching which is further enhanced by the cultural, linguistic and experiential immersion in the capitals of European culture and knowledge. Our staff are experts on both historic cities and teaching is delivered utilising the extensive resources available including the museums, exhibitions, landmarks and culturally significant locations which bring your subject to life.

Between 700 Euros and 1500 Euros, with a 100 Euro discount for payment before 16 May 2014
