Program Overview

Program Description:

Our Education for Environment and Community Graduate Program, offered in partnership with the University of Washington, gives you the opportunity to explore the power of education, environment, and community while guiding hands-on learning experiences in nature for a diverse population of elementary school students.

During the 10-month residency, you will hone your skills in experiential, environmental, and multicultural education, and use natural and cultural environments as a context for learning and teaching. Our small cohort-based program, low faculty-to-student ratio, and close-knit community creates a supportive learning environment. After completing the program, you can choose to continue for another year at the University of Washington’s top-rated College of Education for your Masters in Education or Masters in Teaching.

Our alumni have gone on to start innovative educational programs, serve as classroom teachers, college professors, community organizers, farmers, counselors, and as leaders in the nonprofit and educational sectors. Wherever they are, they are advocates for social and environmental justice, and are cultivating a more sustainable world. Join us!
