The Fund for American Studies

The Fund for American Studies, sponsors educational programs in partnership with Georgetown University. Each summer students have the opportunity to participate in an international program. Our international programs are three weeks long and are held in Prague, Greece, and Hong Kong. Each program brings students together from various parts of the world to engage in a cross-cultural educational experience with more than 260 university students from 35 countries. Both undergraduate and graduate credit is available from Georgetown University for students attending these international programs. Our Full-Degree Transition Program might be just what you're looking for. Along with the process of globalization, education has become more global. Now there are so many opportunities to earn American degrees abroad. That is why we have developed our transition program, where we help students enroll in the right BA/MA program and assist them with settling in the Czech Republic. As part of the program, students study abroad with us for the first year and then continue with the program on their own. The program is designed to help ease the students' transition to a full-degree program. This program takes place at the University of New York in Prague (UNYP), which offers fully accredited American BA and MA degrees.

University of West Bohemia

The University of West Bohemia (UWB) is young (founded in 1991) and open to international students. There are seven faculties: Faculty of Applied Sciences (FAV), Faculty of Economics (FEK), Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FEL), Faculty of Education (FPE), Faculty of Law (FPR), Faculty of Philosophy and Arts (FF), and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FST). There is also Institute of Art and Design (UUD). The student population in 2006 reached 16,000. In general, the language of instruction at all faculties is the Czech langage. However, there are also study programmes in English offered at FAV, FEL and FST.
