Before my Korean Culture/Language class ended, Professor Kim decided to throw a farewell party as well as a birthday party to celebrate her birthday and my classmates’ birthdays together.
When she said that i was a bit surprised because usually professors and students back in the states don’t do that. It was very nice and considerate of her to bring a cake and candles, bananas (Asian families usually have this for celebrations), muffins, bread, pastries, and orange and grape juice. Initially she wanted to bring us Korean food but because her sister was sick, we didn’t get to try her sister’s cooking. When she said that she sounded really sad and sorry. She is such a sweet and friendly professor. I wish i can have more professors like her when i start my fall semester in NY.
